However you identify with Church and faith, we hope you always feel very welcome here at St John’s Church. Our initial welcome to you, on behalf of God, is informal. However there are also formal paths of welcome for all your family, whatever their age, should you wish.

Thanksgiving

For the birth of your child or welcoming them as adopted or fostered.

Dedication

Offering your child to God’s keeping without vows.

Infant Baptism

Making vows for your child who is not old enough to commit their own path to faith.

Adult Baptism

For any teenager or adult not baptised as a youngster making their own commitment to God.

Confirmation

For adults or older youth who have already been baptised, to renew vows made at Baptism for themselves. Many then share in taking communion as members.

We will put you in touch with a member of the Baptism Team who will meet with you, give you all the information you need and support you as explore this journey of faith. 

If you are an adult newly come to faith in Jesus and would like to explore Baptism as a next step of faith, please speak with a member of the clergy after a Sunday gathering.
