Help us with our exciting new project - a community garden at St John's Walton on the land adjacent to the church between Matlock Road and Walton Back Lane. Typically there will be work parties on the land on Saturdays between 10:00 and Noon. Please bring suitable boots, garden gloves, and any tools you may have that could be used for the planned jobs.

Research Project about the Garden
Our curate, Jo, is currently working towards a PhD and her time with the community garden forms part of her research. If you would like to know more about this research you can read her information sheet here. Alternatively, she is always willing to chat about her role as researcher too.
How would you or your group like to cultivate a raised bed in our new community garden?
We are offering you the chance to use one of our newly installed beds rent free during 2024 on a first come first served basis.
You can grow anything you like (that is legal!). We are putting in a foundation of compost but you will need to provide some topsoil (maybe we can share bags with other raised bed users).
